Bangabandhu Satellite-1" 

Human civilization is going ahead rapidly on the wings of science and technology. Bangladesh is also trying to keep pace with the world in this respect. Launching Bangabandhu Satellite-1 in the space is certainly a great step on the part of Bangladesh. In compliance with the scientifically and technologically developed countries, Bangladesh launched this satellite so that it can play an important role in our information technology, entertainment, weather forecast, etc. With sending the Bangabandhu Satellite-1 to the orbit, Bangladesh has become the 57th country to launch a geostationary communication satellite. The Bangabandhu Satellite-1 is the first Bangladeshi geostationary communications and broadcasting satellite. It was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space of France and launched on 11 May 2018. The project is being implemented by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and was the first payload launched by a Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket of space X. The satellite is expected to play a great role in developing the socio-economic condition of our country. The satellite is to establish Bangladesh's own stake on the space opening up enormous opportunities providing three types of advantages involving fields of information and communication technology (ICT) and broadcasting industry alongside brightening Bangladesh's image. The satellite will offer video services for Direct to Home (DTH), e-learning, tele-medicine, family planning, farming, etc. Bangabandhu Satellite-1 is a huge scientific and technological step on the part of Bangladesh. And this success will encourage us in future in various fields.
