DEFORFESTATION

Deforestation means cutting down trees recklessly and destroying the forests. Deforestation is happening in many parts of the world including our country. Man's ignorance is the main reason of it. Most people are not aware of the importance of trees.

Ninety percent people of our country live in the villages. They are cutting down trees at random for domestic purposes. They also use fire wood as fuel for their daily cooking. As a result of the huge consumption of fire wood, our forests are losing so many of their trees. Some dishonest man and officers of the forests also earn a lot of money by cutting down trees and selling them secretly. It this continues to go, our forests will be bare of trees.

Deforestation has a negative and dreadful effect on our environment. Forests and trees are important elements of our environment. Trees help to cause rain. Deforestation may turn a region into a desert. If there are no trees left in the forests the weather will be extreme one. There will be less rainfall. This will cause great harm to our cultivation.

Deforestation is a threat to our existence on earth. The temperature of the world will increase because of deforestation. We must raise public awareness to control deforestation. The medias can play a vital role in this respect. Every year the government launches tree plantation programme to make people aware of it. Our forests must be preserved at any cost. We must preserve our forests to save ourselves.
